When Nike introduced the Bombproof Sweatshirt in 2017, the company wasn’t quite sure if it was ready for the next phase of its evolution.
The jacket was the latest in Nike’s long-term effort to be more eco-friendly.
“It’s definitely a very, very ambitious design,” Michael A. Cottrell, Nike’s head of global design, told Fast Company at the time.
“The whole point of the Bomb is the way it is meant to look and feel.”
The new Bombproof design is the result of months of design research and testing.
While it was designed to protect against COVID and other viral illnesses, it also has a number of other features that could help fight the pandemic.
